Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney could return from injury this weekend against Watford, ahead of his expected return date of October.
The London Evening Standard report that the Scot missed the Premier League matches against Brighton and Hove Albion and Manchester City with an ankle injury sustained against Burnley.
He picked up the knock in a challenge with Charlie Taylor but was able to limp off the pitch rather than being taken off on a stretcher.
The 27-year-old is, of course, the club captain at Craven Cottage and had previously started all of Fulham’s league matches this season.

With boss Slavis Jokanovic deploying a three strong central midfield, Cameroon international Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa took Cairney’s place against Brighton and Stefan Johansen was selected for the defeat at the Etihad.
Fulham go into the Watford match knowing they need a win to kick-start their season, having picked up only four points from their opening five matches.
Should Cairney be fit to play, he is likely to go straight back into the starting XI.
