Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic says Luca de la Torre’s impressive performance against Millwall could earn him a more prominent role in the first-team.
Sky Sports write that 20-year-old scored one and set up the other two as the Cottagers ran out 3-1 winners in the Carabao Cup last night.
The American international was given the chance to play by Jokanovic, who rested a number of key players with upcoming league fixtures in mind.
His goal came seven minutes into the second half, receiving the ball from Floyd Ayite on the penalty spot and firing into the bottom corner.

de la Torre is yet to feature in the Premier League having joined the club in 2013, but Jokanovic seemed to suggest squad rotation will help his cause.
He said:
He played well. Two assists, one goal. I didn’t have space to give him so many chances but he never stopped pushing forward and he showed the personality and professionalism at the training ground.
He is enjoying scoring his first goal, like Joe Bryan who played very good too, and we will find some conclusion and see how we can use different players in different moments or in different shapes.
We are open for all the variations during the year and we will check if some of the options can play this way or not in the future. It depends on many things. Luca is strong, healthy and pushes really strong, waiting for the chance.I cannot promise anything, but he showed many positive things.
Fulham spent heavily in the summer, and the quality of those additions has lead to great competition for places this season.
