Fulham defender Denis Odoi has revealed he still harbours the ambition of playing for Belgium again despite not playing for the Red Devils since 2012.
As reported by Football.London, the centre-back cited the call-up of Watford’s Christian Kabasele as inspiration in an interview with Belgian outlet DH.
Odoi missed the first two matches of the Premier League season through suspension but has since gone on to play a key role for the Cottagers, starting every league outing.
The 30-year-old, who joined the club in the summer of 2016 from Belgian side Lokeren, has impressed at the heart of the defence despite only switching there from full-back halfway through last season.

His 2012 cap came in a friendly against Montenegro and is his only one to date, with the Belgians having a number of star names at their disposal.
The likes of Vincent Kompany, Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweiereld, Thomas Vermaelen and Dedryck Boyata have all featured regularly for the World Cup semi-finalists over the years.
However, Odoi revealed he has not closed the door on a return and is hoping to catch the eye of boss Roberto Martinez.
He said:
Why not [talk about Belgium], but we still have high-level defenders, Kompany, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, they’re tough guys, then Denayer at Lyon, Kabasele at Watford and Boyata at Celtic. A teammate told me that Scotland was not a big competition, and then Boyata showed the world they had the level, Fulham wanted to buy him but it did not happen. Good for me in the end.
I played against Watford, Kabasele is a good defender, but is he stronger than me? I do not know, I do not think so, I have the strength and know everyone in this group, there’s a lot of friends.
