Fulham forward Andre Schurrle has been nominated for the Premier League’s October Goal of the Month award.
As reported by the club website, the German’s 11th-minute strike away at Cardiff City was deemed worthy of a place on the shortlist.
Schurrle unleashed a rocket from all of 25 yards out which found the top-right corner, giving Bluebirds keeper Neil Etheridge no chance.
Disappointingly for the Cottagers, the goal wasn’t enough to pick up a positive result as Slavisa Jokanovic’s men went on to lose the match 4-2.

The goal was one of four the 27-year-old has netted in the Premier League since joining the club in a two-season deal from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
Schurrle will have to fight off competition from Ricardo Pereira, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Aaron Ramsey, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Riyad Mahrez, Roberto Pereyra and Anthony Martial if he is to win the prize.
The winner will be announced next week and is decided by a public vote. Cottagers midfielder Jean Michel Seri won the August award for his strike against Burnley.
