Seri’s thunderbolt wins Premier League Goal of the Month
Fulham’s Jean Michael Seri’s strike into the top corner against Burnley has been named as the Goal of the Month for August by the Premier League.
The Daily Mail report the Seri’s goal was deemed better than efforts by David Silva, Lucas Moura and Roberta Pereyra in the opening month of the season.
The Ivorian received the ball from Aleksandar Mitrovic before touching the ball round Jeff Hendrick and unleashing a powerful effort past the despairing dive of Joe Hart and into the top right corner.
The goal set Fulham on their way to their first Premier League win of the season, and that victory remains their only one to date.
Seri, who moved to West London from Nice in the summer for £18m, has impressed in his early outings for the Cottagers, scoring that goal and providing an assist.
The prize was awarded by a mixture of supporters and a panel containing pundits, ex-players and ex-referees.
The 27-year-old is likely to receive the award before Fulham travel north to face champions Manchester City next Saturday.
